Discover our journey into the heart of 19th century London. Delivering multiple Matte Paintings for 'Great Expectations,' produced by the BBC and available on Hulu, Amazon, and BBC platforms.

Our primary focus centered around the iconic River Thames, a bustling waterway teeming with life and industry. In an era dominated by boats and Victorian architecture, we meticulously crafted Matte Paintings that captured the city's essence, from the accurate density of buildings to the intricate architectural details that defined Dickens' industrial-era London.

Bringing Saint Paul's Cathedral to Life in a period Matte Painting was an exciting challenge. First, we conceptualized the shot to find the right balance of luminosity, lighting in the city, and the mood of the surroundings. Then, we laid out the shot with 3D building assets and finally, we created the final matte painting to make Saint Paul the highlight of the shot.
